UP becomes first State to mandate RFID tag for e-Way bill
Uttar Pradesh has made it mandatory for vehicles operating in the state to use the radio frequency identification device (RFID) tag along with e-way bill from November 1 vide notification dated 07.09.2018.
UP government has advised the transporters to provide their information in FORM GST EWB-01 and must get an RFID tag under GST.
The notification says that the RFID tag must be placed on the windscreen of the goods carrier and this RFID tag must be synchronized with the E-Way bill system.
