Can a charitable trust accept donation exceeding Rs.2000 in cash or not and same trust not registeredu/s 80G of IT Act

Reply—According to Section 269ST of the income tax act, no person shall receive an amount of rupees two lakh or more in cash mode. 

The limit of Rs. 2000/- is applicable on a person who is desires to donate an amount to a trust registered under section 80G of Income Tax Act. Sub section 5(D) of section 80G prescribed that no deduction shall be allowed under this section in respect of Donation of any sum exceeding two thousand rupees unless such sum is paid by any mode other than cash.
