I had cancelled the registration and for the same cancellation order has also been passed. I have filled GSTR 10 but in the portal it is still showing the subsequent period returns are pending. So my query is that should I need to file the subsequent return or I need to stop filling the return from the date of order of cancellation or if I need to file the return, then till what period I need to filled the return.

Reply

The date of application for cancellation will be deemed to be the date of cancellation until unless department raise any issue. A taxpayer need to file GST returns till the date of application.

For example, if a taxpayer will apply for cancellation in the month of December, 2018, he needs to file returns upto November, 2018.

In your case, as cancellation order has been passed and you have also filed GSTR-10, pending return status should not be there, you should contact to GSTN helpdesk for the same.
